Rocket Lab has started installing a custom-built automated fiber placement (AFP) machine at its production line in Middle River, Maryland. The 90-tonne machine is designed to produce large carbon composite rocket structures for the Neutron launch vehicle. This new technology is expected to save around 150,000 manufacturing hours and increase efficiency.
