I'm very sad about Senator Feinstein's death. 

I lived in the Bay Area when Harvey Milk and Mayor Moscone were shot and frankly I participated in the White Night Riots. Feinstein had come to speak to us at City Hall when we gathered. It mattered.

She was an ally to LGBTQ people when it was rare and considered dangerous.
