I lived through Hurricane Maria, a Category 5 hurricane that hit Puerto Rico in 2017. If there's one thing I learned, it's that the government will not help you when you need it most. Years after the hurricane, they found warehouses completely full of supplies that were never distributed because certain people wanted to make the people in power look bad. One thing was certain, the help most people received was from private citizens and people helping one another. There are so many good people out there.
