Have you heard of the underground bunkers for millionaires and billionaires that is being built in New Zealand? They believe that New Zealand is the ideal place to escape various threats, including nuclear war and deadly virus outbreaks. As if they didn't have Covid there 😂.
Western media have also mentioned hastily built bunkers owned by well-known figures as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and members of the Rockefeller family.
Imagine the world is ending, you are filthy rich, and spend the rest of your life with a bunch of asocial parasites.
No thank you. I'd rather die free under the open sky with the shahada on my last breath than live cowardly with these folks.
Imagine you spend hundreds of millions building an underground bunker home somewhere and then fly in with your private jet and be deemed inadmissible and turned around at the border by the authoritarian government because you don’t have the latest vax or radiation-free digital resident certificate or whatever and can’t bribe the local guys and everyone else in position of power is too busy saving themselves to help call in favors for you.

I moved to New Zealand and I think it is a pretty amazing place to be, especially with the rise of authoritarianism and climate change. Not because it’s a good place to build a bunker in the remote mountains of the South Island. Aotearoa New Zealand is a place with incredibly high trust, even with political divides the politics and culture here is cooperative. Sure the natural resources are tremendous and the place is isolated, but that’s not what makes it work. What makes it work is people see the humanity in each other and believe that’s more important than anything else.
Then one can only hope that those who have moved in from outside will also adopt this local culture and mindset.
It isn't a zero sum game. You can increase your odds of surviving the zombie apocalypse and thrive on your local area. This is particularly relevant when you care for your family and friends.
If you are going out, then do it helping other survive.
Good luck to the billionaire idiots. Their bodyguards will have the sharpest knives in the bunker.
