They touched on this for about 5 seconds, but the topic of how more people will come to Nostr came up, and as I’ve been saying from the beginning, no amount of UX, freedom, tech, or anything else is going to bring people to Nostr. It’s going to take people like Odell saying, “If you want to see my content and interact with me, I’m on Nostr.” Nothing else will bring people here until principled people take a stand and leave the slave tech platforms, even if it costs them. I don’t judge them for the decisions they make, and do not besmirch them. In all honesty, I am not sure I’d have this kind of conviction if my livelihood was on the line, but this is the only way Nostr grows. nostr:note1hptwjgg3532xjehtpc6gz9sh5ex46rd3asm69jew30kr2pa0tkwqtcfct6
grind up! like Bitcoin, it's a gr8 grind!
exactly, but “influencers” stay on X and get slow dripped reach-throttle tortured into irrelevance.
Which is hilarious, since there's so much nonsense on X, and you have deal with all of the crypto crap.
I think the next Covid style event that brings censorship will cause this to happen. Those who we hope to see move here won’t do so until it’s out of necessity.
Even moving here out of necessity has the same mechanism; leaving one platform and coming here as the only place to broadcast your thoughts, ideas, and content. Thus forcing followers to get it on here only.
Think I misunderstood your response. Sounds like you’re in agreement and just think it’ll require being forced here, and they won’t do it on their own volition.
How do you think we get non Bitcoin people to move here? I’d like to make the move but I use X for a lot of sports news.
This is absolutely true. Many people just don't want to move away from their "safe bubble" just because they fear of losing contact with others. Which is sad, having even such radical figures like Edward Snowden giving the world a big warning about goverments' ways to spy on its own people. It just shows how much nowadays people value the convenience over anything else, even freedom.
