Prosecutors in former U.S. President Donald Trump's classified documents case have asked a federal judge to prevent him from making statements that pose a "danger" to law enforcement. Special Counsel Jack Smith filed a motion seeking to modify Trump's conditions of release, citing intentionally false and inflammatory statements made by Trump regarding the circumstances of the FBI search warrant at Mar-a-Lago. The FBI searched Trump's estate in August 2022 to retrieve classified material that he retained after leaving office. Trump has falsely claimed that the FBI was authorized to attempt an assassination. The prosecutors argue that Trump's mischaracterization of the facts endangers law enforcement officers involved in the case and threatens the integrity of the proceedings. Trump faces four criminal prosecutions and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
