Bird story:

I saw a Cooper’s hawk snatch an acorn woodpecker in mid air. 7 other woodpeckers immediately took after it, forcing the hawk to the ground to protect its lunch.

The hawk spread its wings to cover its prey and screeched at the woodpeckers as they took turns swooping in.

Chris opens his office door, shouts “Dude!” and the pinned ‘pecker, momentarily unsnagged, hightails it with a laugh, followed by his pals.

The hawk turns and gives me a baleful “Seriously?”
