My dad has been retired for just over 4 years and now he wants to find a part time job outdoors. I don’t want him to work :( he doesn’t need to financially. I think he just wants to keep active. Alas.

Curious why don’t you want him to work?
Staying active is so important and if he prefers to do it through working, why not?
Possibly also feeling like he’s still contributing to the world is part of his desire, could ask him :)
I get where you're coming from 100% My dad works still to keep somewhat intellectually stimulated but it's been casuing him more stress than good I feel with industries changing overnight. I would love it for him to be more active though so maybe a blessing in disguise your dad wants to be outdoors. With nature and not in an office/cubicle I guess.

does he have hobbies and passions outside of his work?
Remaining active and engaged into retirement is a key to staying fit and healthy, leading to much longer overall life expectancy. Rather than work though, suggest maybe that he find an organization (or a even small farm?) nearby that aligns with his interests and values who could use a hand – They will be extremely grateful for the help and he'll get the activity he needs without the stress and responsibilities of an actual job.
 How about a hobby?
He fishes all the time 🧡🧡 I agree though, team hobby
