Yes and No. I agree that people can get a false dopamine hit from sharing goals and never make progress towards that goal. On the other hand, some people need a little accountability. If they share a goal with someone(s) who will keep them accountable and ask them, "how are you doing towards your goal?" it can help a person stay on track. Some people will keep working towards their goal better if they are worried about disappointing those around them. I guess it all depends on who you tell and what your purpose for telling is.
