the initial slab, which i didn't think i'd use all of it https://cdn.satellite.earth/4d5b5394a0738b4a4229bc2ce48aea16edf9c0240eed560ef4b319cd10fe7c0e.jpg dicing it up https://cdn.satellite.earth/c49cd5e1833b1b2141ff5d73ca55a7786c099f602f24e10ea5909af73192ef3b.jpg on the skewers with half pieces of garlic squashed between and lots of sea salt slathered over https://cdn.satellite.earth/52ec18662e8c6cdc263d193445f71d87eaaa19139076182ab34b9f30e9513e6a.jpg charcoal is a pain the arse to get it to go to actual coals to cook on https://cdn.satellite.earth/2f4bdff8fe1b0cadb5b9eb2f454d448f9173b4b77c0e2a5e19a30516d0053252.jpg #madeira #espetada
i'm clearly going to need to get a lot of wood for this, and not just slabs but lots of little bits, or maybe a tomahawk so i can buy a big pile of short cut logs and split them into little bits to get a roaring fire going first so i get actual bed of coals anyway, first rodeo... will be better as i learn how this works i love fire, this is like 20 years since i played like this
super excited tho... this is gonna be epic definitely need some sticks with this, so i'm gonna start wandering about looking for stuff there was places i saw when i first landed on this island, dense stands of young eucalyptus, and you can just gather up the trash fallen on the ground and have enough for a really good bbq in about 2 minutes just gotta learn where such woods are around me now... the coals are great, they form a base, but you gotta get a roaring fire running first with lots of small twigs and sticks
