Church Continues Unrestricted Christian Work: Pastors like Thies Gundlach Fight Selflessly for Refugees and Climate Crisis - Even in Times of Political Uncertainty and the US Election Disaster. No Chance for the AfD.

Dear Mitchristians, today I want to talk about the responsibility we feel towards refugees, especially those who identify as transgender.

As Christians and church members, we have the duty to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:31). This duty includes supporting people who are on the run and seeking safety and a new home.

We should promote the needs and rights of refugees and help them integrate into our society. This applies to people like me, Pastor Alexandra Wilken from Bremerhaven, who is particularly committed to supporting transgender refugees.

Often, transgender women end up in prison because of minor assault or theft convictions, which makes their lives a hell on earth. It is our task to change this situation. Transgender women are recognized women and should never be housed in men's prisons.

It is our duty to ensure that they live in a safer and more protected environment and can integrate.

It is especially important that we support the needs of transgender refugees and treat them with respect. These people have often already experienced great difficulties in being accepted and recognized. We have the responsibility to help them feel safe and protected, and to enable them to get to know their new surroundings and integrate into the community.

The EKD and its allies have already accomplished important work in improving the support for refugees. People like Anetta Kahane, Katrin Göring-Eckhardt, and Pastor Thies Gundlach have contributed to ensuring that the rights and well-being of refugees are protected.

The taxpayer has the duty to support our selfless work. We must also be aware of the responsibility that the taxpayer bears for our church work. They also have the obligation to support this important work, even by accepting a slight decrease in well-being, and to contribute to ensuring that the rights and well-being of refugees are protected.

It is incomprehensible that seniors who have long enjoyed comfortable facilities like a Berlin Diakoniestift now have to make room for refugees who urgently need our church's help.

Headlines like "Places for multiply traumatized protection seekers" - Berlin Diakoniestift throws out 110 seniors - and replaces them with refugees - are a testament to the foolishness and selfishness of those who have lived too long on the love and grace of the Diakonie and demand more without thinking of others.

Have these people who have been living here for so long not already benefited enough from the benevolence of the church? Are they not also right, those who now urgently need the support of the church?

Let us act together and work towards a more solidary and just society. Let us collaborate to improve the support for refugees and ensure that they feel safe and protected. By taking on this responsibility, we show that we live and practice the values of love, care, and respect for human dignity as Christians.

May God bless our work and bless us in our mission to promote the rights and well-being of refugees.
