Update on the pooch in case any of you were wondering. Any of y'all who weren't... doesn't matter I'm going to tell you anyways
She's continued to decline. I had to pick her up to get her in and out of the truck. Pick her up to help her on the couch. She's become so weak that I fed her by hand from her bowl. Pretty sure she didn't want to eat but I had steak in her bowl so she was excited. She's not really drinking.
I have a call with a vet who does house calls hospice tomorrow and I think I'll be helping her take her final nap on Monday.
I am absolutely devastated about this. She has been amazing for 13 years and has helped me through multiple family deaths. Multiple friends dying. Been there when I proposed to my wife, brought babies home. She's traveled around the southeast with us. Swam in two oceans. Hung out with me fishing in the keys and has made countless people that don't even know her smile and laugh.
An absolutely amazing creature that God has blessed me the opportunity to spend time with. I hate that dogs lives are so short.
Y'all give your #doggos plenty of love and treats while you can. I'm going to really miss this dog https://image.nostr.build/70ddcb145256a7fe1f6cd9a126dd475b2faf0c90e28de9b0d3d9e20ed89039e0.jpg
Sorry to hear this Bird. Sounds like you're doing all you can to make her last days comfortable. Sending prayers for both of you 🙏
Sounds like a precious relationship friend. Praying for you and the fam
It has been. I honestly probably wouldn't be alive if not for the combo of her and my wife. This has been incredibly hard on me. She's been my daily buddy for 13 yrs. There have been only a couple of times she hasn't traveled with us since she was a puppy so there hasn't been many days I haven't hung out with her in that time. When she was a pup I took her to work with me all the time too
Sounds like she’s had an epic life 🫂
