Yeah when i did some sprawling system design back in the days, having self imposed strong encapsulation and limitations for direction / type of comm eliminated entire classes of bugs.  Move fast, things don’t break.  I think the hardest part is the beginning where it’s a blank slate... and having to figure out what’s what.
