 Before the WG that made ActivityPub we had an XG for a few years.  (2005-1010) This was the final report of the XG.  WG was a bit after that and used the XG as an input.

 Yeah I know him pretty well.  He was staff contact on the SWXG and for a while on the SWWG.  He's into bitcoin too.  You can say hi from me if you see him, I normally get him a whiskey 😃
