Maybe it's enough to keep the discussion in a software community tightly on-topic, focused on our technical common ground rather than things that divide us, without explicitly invoking current hot-button culture-war topics as CoCs commonly do. So yeah, a software project community resembling a high-school boys' locker room is toxic.
