Lamentations 3:52–57
I have been hunted like a bird
by those who were my enemies without cause; they flung me alive into the pit
and cast stones on me;
water closed over my head;
I said, ‘I am lost.’
"I called on your name, O Lord,
from the depths of the pit;
you heard my plea, ‘Do not close
your ear to my cry for help!’
You came near when I called on you;
you said, ‘Do not fear!’
These verses have really struck a cord with me this week as I've really struggled to feel closeness with the Lord. I've cried out and pleaded with Him and at times it's felt like there's been nothing. These verses reminded me this week that He is always there. Always listening. Always close. "He will not let my foot slip" (psalm 121). This month has really pushed me to the brink many times. Where does my hope lie? My marriage? My kids? My own strength? My friendships? At the end of the day when all those things could be stripped away, where does my hope lie?
"My hope lies in the Lord..." (psalm 40:1). https://image.nostr.build/00f50e19cb916e11213ab26e59bbe8b2e45670aa5d0cb7330977720fee8073ab.jpg
