The black grouper (Mycteroperca bonaci) was one of the first fish I found while diving, it is a very beautiful fish that can have different colors. He calmly came close to me and started pinching the stone. I ended up approaching very quickly with my arm outstretched, which scared him, but normally they are very calm fish that don't mind divers.
They can reach up to 100kg. The adults prefer deeper waters, while the young ones stay more in the shallows among the rocks and sand. They are found from northern Massachusetts to southern Brazil, and they are not threatened with extinction.
