 Primal probably calculates the follower count from more relays 

 It has things cached. I think of the numbers on primal & Nostr. Band like all time numbers. The count pulled in realtime is probably more real. How many people followed me then never came back I wonder? 

 Their contact lists prob still exist on relays though. I don’t think any relays delete contact lists for dormant accounts. I think Primal and nostr.band just aggregate the data from many more relays 

 Also Primal’s cache is constantly updated. When people unfollow you the number goes down. 

 that why use Amethyst more than Primal.

 nostr.band is the best way to inflate that ego, always gives the highest follower count, you're almost at 17k lol
