 He's always been staunchly anti-war though, it's a consistent position at least. Anyone who opposes the war machine gets attacked by it's mouthpieces from all sides. I think he comes off much better in a long-form interview (like Rogan) overall. I personally don't agree with many of his positions but he remains an influential artist for me. As a teenager, I really connected with The Wall and it's themes. Even though they are at opposite political spectrums; it's clear neither Waters nor Nugent have anyone advising them and both do and say whatever they want.
