Different times, same shit.
Year 1450
The Taino people believed that human sacrifices were sometimes necessary to appease the gods during times of crisis, such as droughts. They performed these rare rituals in hopes of restoring balance and ensuring the survival of their community.
Year 2024
Israel is flattening Gaza, knowing there are children and civilians in the area, with the blind hope of destroying Hamas fighters or one of its tunnel exits.
And a charry on top, people still belive in some imaginary being nowdays. I'm not judging, just saying. We still believe in something that gives us hope.
Sacrifices were hope for Taino people. We can't compare thinking from now and then but similarities are obvious.
