I haven’t read the books, but I thought the world was really well fleshed out, they dived a lot into the religion of the world which made it feel grounded, some of the action set pieces were spectacular, it was very well acted especially how Paul atreides transitions in dune 2. I was completely hooked into the hero’s journey. Feyd-Rautha was fla formidable villain, something I haven’t seen in a movie in ages. 

But hey, movies are a subjective experience so it is understandable, I didn’t like the first dune a lot either, thought it dragged.
