Sounds like Telegram gonna be getting involved with shitcoins. - Chats not e2e encypted by default - Shitcoins Garbage app. I deleted my account.
And dubious self-rolled encryption. And not open source. Not good. nostr:note1hpnxtjfnww5zq0fj2r52cj9y3q57wup2xuk2j84c09fsaxtncstqh3xymg
I've been wanting to delete mine. But why oh why, so many Bitcoin groups and companies still use that?!
Yeah seriously... i was in some groups that I enjoyed (Wavlake, Fountain) but i figured Ill catch the most important stuff through Nostr anyway!
True Our local Bitcoin group is still on telegram tho. So last minute venue change and such would be communicated through that also...thus why I still didn't make the cut. Ugh.
There's always SimpleX! Working well for group chats so far for our meetup 💪
Does it work well?
So far! I mean, you have group name/image, can set admins, can share images, files. The downside is that the desktop experience and syncing your profile is not that great, last time I tried.
Deleted my telegram account just now. I feel lighter and 0.1% happier. 😀😂 nostr:nevent1qqstsen9eyeh82pq85e9p69vfzjgs208wq4rwt9fr6u8j5cwn9eug9sppamhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5pzpmhglypygky6hjzjkqjyjws8w53p2uzhum2k27yd35y5wwup699fqvzqqqqqqyz6f8yg
I'm glad I never got into like some people. Signal was shitcoining too last I checked. Been using Matrix with the few who even use e2e with me
I wish people would stop using telegrabage for software support like @calle 👁️⚡👁️ and Lnbits.
I don't like Telegram, but it would be stupid to apply end-to-end encryption as a default in Group Chats. Even XMPP doesn't do that, fortunately.
Guess I'm pure signal after all nostr:note1hpnxtjfnww5zq0fj2r52cj9y3q57wup2xuk2j84c09fsaxtncstqh3xymg
Take a look at https://simplex.chat/ Very impressive open source, secure, no personal identifying info. Cool tech. I created a chat bot for personal use for fun on top of it as test case.
Thanks friend! That's exactly what I ended up doing 💜. I really like it, it's improved so much recently too. UX is getting to be really nice!
I discovered it after getting into Start9OS using my DIY NUC appliance (cheap computer) for self hosting app services.
