Why does it remind me of #EU, and #UK today? 

A political regime, having #totalitarian aspirations, ideologically based on a relationship between business and the #centralized government, business-and-government #control of the market place, #repression of criticism and (real) opposition, exalting the state (and/or #climatechange / #Covid19 or any real or made up #Emergency) above individual rights.
