There is no escape. There are only levels, but the levels are infinite and in infinite directions.
Imagine Plato's allegory of the cave, but instead of having only the cave (prison and lies) and the outside (freedom and truth), the cave has several chambers, at different depths and even "the outside" is full of places, equally or even more illusory and imprisoning than the cave...
So, even if you discover yourself more free, the very idea of freedom hides new illusions and prisons, mainly by making it seem that you are only free with that new thing discovered.
