Tory leadership race heats up; here is the list of probable candidates to replace Rishi Sunak

The UK Conservatives have suffered their most humiliating defeat in the General Elections of 2024. The party will seek to start afresh and for this they have to find the right candidate who has the political acumen and the administrative experience. Rishi Sunak, the former Prime Minister, has said that he will continue to lead the party until it elects its new leader. None of the party’s 121 Members of Parliament (MP) have evinced their interest in leading the party yet. Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman, James Cleverly, Priti Patel, Tom Tugendhat, and Robert Jenrick are some of the probable candidates to replace Rishi Sunak. The UK Conservatives have a multiparty democracy with more than three parties contesting the elections. The House of Commons in the UK has a total of 650 members, and a party seeking to form the government needs to win at least 326 seats in these elections.
