If my roommate would let me, our entire house would be dark red bulbs most of the time, especially after dark 😂 I'm not sure of the particular brand, but lots of LED light bulbs that are slightly smart will let you change their color to red.
I like vintage light bulbs. They're a good vibe at night.

I have some of those already. Need to go more extreme I think 😅
I wanna see the look, when it's all done. Sounds pretty dope!
Natural sun light & candles
You know, not that long ago they piped gas to every room for light fixtures. That's why the old-style chandeliers have gas-valve keys
If you went that route, now youre dealing with natural gas contaminents. You'd only want to burn propane in a situation because its a refined petroleum.
Isn't this LED garbage?
You can get both, I just replaced my led ones with incandescent.
its got filaments
LED filaments.
zoom in on the bulb!
filaments!
I just grabbed a random online pic of a vintage light bulb. I'm not sure what this one is exactly 🤷♂️
dear god. ITS GOT FILAMENTS.
This photo looks like a genuine edison bulb, but try to buy one and its the simulated LED filament trash
LED. The real ones are tiny, tiny tungsten coils if you zoom in.
I have a few for the ambience, but they're not daily drivers.
its not a coil bulb.
ok too many millennial experts.
on to more important things
The hate for led lights is unwarranted Luddism. While they certainly are not the end all be all that they were proclaimed a decade ago, they are superior in virtually every way to incandescent bulbs.
Proclaimed superior by moronic tech geeks, LED manufacturers and the scientific governmental complex sponsored by chinese industrialists.
And anyone that installs lights of all kinds for a living
I know all about that. My dad was a professional light bulb salesman and installer. That's a whole different story, now you're bringing commercial lighting into the mix. I'm only concerned about domestic lighting.
Regular led bulb > regular incandescent imo
They fail less and have less duds out of the package(in my extensive experience) and don't heat up to dangerous temperatures (which causes many issues beyond the fire hazard). They also use 1/10th of the power
The positives for incandescents are that they don't dim as much over time and they are cheaper to make.
The things I care about as an electrician are the things in column A.
I used to be in your camp. Efficiency and longevity was my primary concern. Then I learned about intracellular photosynthetic production of melatonin.
Yeah, that's about as interesting to me as astrology. Light is light. What changes is the spectrum and that can be set at any wavelength with LEDs. There is no meaningful amount of anything else radiating from an incandescent light. The fact that it's a piece of molten tungsten doesn't make the light different than a cold diode of the same color.
Ok. I guess I don't know what I'm talking about. Next time I'll call my electrician before I read any scientific literature.
Snark all you want. If you think your incandescent light bulb has some kind of health benefit, I have a bridge to sell you.
Would you say the same of sunlight?
The sun is not a small band of glowing tungsten. Troll harder
Also, as soon as they started sponsoring the CFL bulbs, the incandescent bulb quality went through the floor and what would last years started lasting months.
Yes the led "filament" bulbs are utter flickery trash. They also lack spectrum in the yellow and far red region rendering them depressingly dim.
you can still find incandescent ones like this at certain hardware stores
Smart is not an option. My appliances need to be as dumb as possible.
My oven has a screen. It's so frustrating. 😂 I didn't buy it though.
If it's truly yours you can still sell it!
