I AM a supporter of voting with your feet, hence why I'm here, but for people to move with you, there must be critical mass of friends / people who like each other who are willing to move together. 

It could work in this case because most of us are bitcoiners and other bitcoiners (especially given their values) may want to come here as they see more people make the move. 

Also, if all the prominent bitcoin people are gone all of a sudden, that should send a strong signal that maybe there's something better over there. 

For normies it's a bit of a different story I think. They need a critical mass around their own friends to make the move - as I witnessed for myself and as evident in Taibi / Snowden migration and lack of their following coming here. 

In other words, we are bound by something stronger than friendships - values, desire to create a better world.
