GM #nostr - I'm bloody frozen, I stepped off the boat this morning and I've struggled to warm up since, now sitting waiting for a coffee to arrive while I thaw out. How the hell do all of you who live in much colder places manage? Anything worse than -3c & I'm basically fucked 😂
Good morning, Matt! I see it as normal... 🤷 Try a Schnaps next to your coffee.
GM 🔥
Good morning. It usually comes down to clothing and hardiness. Both can be improved.
I can definitely do with getting a thermal top, that'd help, but nothing is ever going to acclimatise me to winter, even after these many years, I need heat 🥵 😂
Move to the tropics! 😁
The plan for years was to spend winters in Spain and I just started doing that in 2020 when the lockdowns started and everything went to shit. From next winter though, I'll be there December through to the end of Feb. British winters suck 😂
That's a good plan. I'm moving farther north very shortly. I like winter. 😝
My daughtervprefers winter...I just don't understand 😂
don't freeze man! hope you'll bring your boat down to the costa del sol one day. no more frozen nuts!
A tip from an arctic explorer surviving in -24 deg C on a P&O Cruise ship in Alta, Norway last Christmas. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0CJ6HQ1BF Wearing them right now at home 😂
Okay, that's cool, my mate just showed me waistcoats that are heated the same way recently, but socks is more sensible - a question though, when you wash them isn't that going to damage the wiring/connections?
Good morning 💜
GM! I am soft so even -3 is way cold 🥶 Would love to hear how the tough ones do it …
I know I grew up without indoor heating and I've done some tough nights on the boat but even so, it never gets easier
Good morning Matt, hot coffee always helps… at least till it’s gone
As for me personally, I come from ancestry that is from Scandinavia. Tolerating long cold winter is in our blood.
So you're built for it and you get to enjoy it, I'm 1/4 Italian, I'm built for the long hot summers, which is almost a shame, because there's things in the northern areas I'd love to see but I doubt I'd ever enjoy.
You'd have to go in the off season, I assume.
