The confusion is the "Disrupt and Destabilize" phase 

Once the current society is destroyed they believe they can seize control of society, therefore seizing control of how society produces mankind

At which point they believe that can seize control of the production of mankind and force everyone into being "perfect" communist "social" humans.

They believe once everyone in the world lives communism on their own, without being forced into it, that they will have "saved mankind," and all the glory will go to them.

It's all about Glory to them. They want to rob individuals of the glory of saving themselves. The communists want the steal the glory that individuals get from from self-achievement, from self-growth, and from being righteous.
