 Runes are actually not too bad.  The problem is that they are too closely tied to ordinals and the assinine inscriptions.  I'm thinking about a nostr version removing all the spammy stuff.  Thinking of calling it #glyphs.  Then it is possible to have finance over nostr, using nostr npubs and taproot.  Not everyone's cup of tea, of course.  But there will be some legit use cases. 

 Think of it another way.  Do you want the creation to be centralized and in the control of the elites, who in turn control the plebs. Or do you want it to be decentralized and in the control of the plebs?  Eth and other shit coins cant to this, because they are not a level playing field.  Only bitcoin has a chance of doing this.
