US, FCMB Partner On $10m Funding For Nigeria’s Health Sector

The United States and First City Monument Bank (FCMB) have partnered to strengthen Nigeria’s private health sector with $10 million in funding. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will collaborate with FCMB to facilitate the loans, which will be used to support businesses in the health sector such as hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers. The loans will also be used for the procurement of medical equipment and the construction and renovation of health facilities. FCMB's focus will include financial support for working capital, equipment procurement, construction, and restructuring of commercial properties for small and medium-sized enterprises. The partnership aims to expand access to finance for underserved borrowers and SMEs in Nigeria's health sector.
