What happens when we continually add the newest books in a library& push the “classics” further &further back into quiet corners?

We promote the latest fashions, promote non “heros”, fears of the unknown enemy (the next covid) & normalising minority subjects.

Where are the stories that presented the hero’s of yesteryear that helped define and embed culture for hundreds of years? Where is Ayn Rand? Too right wing, too individualist? The people who control the books that are in the library can control the culture?

In 1885 Johnson wrote theory of self effort and outlined how books helped us connnect with the minds of the greats, share their journeys, learn from them. FYI, gangster granny probably won’t help your personal growth!!!
