Some studies have shown our brain processes 11 million bits of information per second. But we only consciously process around 50 bits of information per second.
🤨🤔 How many bits does this post contain?
Seems a bit much…
Some esoteric texts claim thought knows no speed limit, and also memory is infinite if one knows how to tap into it. We are too worried about petty stuff to focus on self improvement, which ironically requires much less and leads to needing even less.
Using Nostr.build to disseminate those bits? Meme factory
I wish I could mine Bitcoin with my brain. Solo mining blocks.
After observing a wide range of humans I can report that some of them don't process any bits at all.
So, Dune's Mentats are actually possible, if you somehow increase bits/second
6 months ago I met a monk. I did a 10 day meditation retreat with him. We were exploring around 5 meditation techniques in total. They were all showing different kinds of things and designed for different kind of purposes. One of them was "noting". The goal of it - to note more than 6 things/sensations per second. As soon as your brain starts doing that - it starts breaking, as if getting short-circuit. After around 4 days I started noting 6 - 10 things, depending on a session. I've had out-of-body experience, DMT-like experiences, kundalini awakening and many others. Can't imagine what would happen if I went above 10+.
6 things/sensations per second 👀 Can you give an example?
He gave me a "template" - 4 basic sensations & then I could add as much to it as possible. 1. Inhale 2. Exhale 3. Sitting (I was going through my spine) 4. Touching (feeling my ass) And then the rest would be whatever I feel/hear/sense/think in my being. So it would be - inhale, exhale, sitting, touching, hearing, thought, tension (in my knee), thought - this is one round and these are 8 things I noticed. 8 is already super super advanced though. 5-6 is what I can do on a daily basis (I meditate 60-120mins per day). To go past 6, I need to meditate 4-8 hours that day to train my focus.
