Due to the huge increase in rainfall in Spain, the floodgates of the Almonacid de la Cuba dam had to be opened to relieve the pressure. However, there is a curious historical detail: this dam is almost 2,000 years old! It was built by order of Emperor Augustus and uses the famous opus caementicium, Roman concrete, known for its extreme resistance, as we can see in this video.
