 Diffusing the Blue Light that keeps you submissive and dumb.

Some Notes from El Patron, a nym on another platform:

"I work primarily with computers and I learned about this guy (Jack Kruse) in the past few weeks.  If you have even the slightest concern about blue light/eye issues, I can't recommend the following enough (based on another video I saw of Jack's and subsequent research on eInk/RLCD screens like the one used in the Daylight computer):

* 		Hisense Q5: see eBay
* Dasung Paperlike Pro or Paperlike HD
* eInk monitors: they're crazy expensive, but I bought one (Boox Mira Pro - woah, I bought a refurb one from B&H 2 weeks ago for < $1500; also see http://shop.dasung.com and the Bigme B251) w/ a 30-day return policy and 2 weeks in my eyestrain is very much improved
* I recently became aware that recent Apple Macbook Pro products use PWM and "temporal dithering" which essentially strobes the display; Stillcolor is an app that can be used to disable this anti-feature; see Stillcolor author's write-up on debugging "temporal dithering" here

I currently am trialing the Boox Mira Pro and I also bought a used Paperlike Pro for use as a secondary monitor.  So far, so good: one of the best things about the eInk displays is that you can use them outside in full sunlight and the brighter the ambient surroundings, the better the displays look."
