We must not forget the malicious actions of Daniel Domscheit-Berg. He had Julian Assange's trust when he WikiLeaks spokesman. However Domscheit-Berg let Assange down during the most critical period in 2010. He took with him tons of unpublished files (Bank of America, No Fly list, ...) which he purposefully destroyed. This spoiled the work and risk numerous whistleblowers had taken. He afterwards started his own site OpenLeaks which never published anything useful. Jacob Appelbaum and the German Chaos Computer Club (CCC) found OpenLeaks to be connected to German Intelligence.
