Logged into #Flotilla remotely on my desktop using my Amber app by scanning a QR code.
THIS IS THE UX WE NEED!
Had to hunt for it a bit more, but was also able to do this with #noStrudel.
Please devs, make this login option more front-and-center!
Web apps should encourage either remote signing via NIP-46 with a QR code, or via a a NIP-07 browser extension, and put other login options into the background, behind a "More Options" link.
Likewise, native apps should put NIP-46 and NIP-55 options front and center, and other options into the background.
Of course, this means we will need a decent NIP-55/46 signer for iOS like we have for Android.
What is the URL for Flotilla?
What's NIP-55?
NIP-55 is a way for native apps to talk to a local signer app for login and all signing requests. It's very fast since all of the event signing is happening locally, rather than having to communicate with a remote signing bunker, like NIP-46.
Native apps on your phone?
Yes. For instance, #Amethyst is a native app, so is #Damus on iOS. You aren't accessing them through a web browser like #noStrudel or satellite.earth.
Some clients have both a web version and a native app, such as #Primal and #Coracle.
I'm glad my blood sweat and tears paid off
Are you the dev of #Flotilla?
Indeed he is. Coracle.social, too.
