We have a very simlar problem in "personal server / solid state interpreter VM" land at https://vaporware.network. novel technologies and social paradigms require explaining the concept from many different angles at once; often letting the concept sit with the audience and then beginning again later.  
Most crucial, I've found, is _individual discussion_ where you find the mental footholds **this person** already has, and then keying off of those. This doesn't scale, and probably can't, until the novel thing in question begins to take on the status of "more common meme". (and then at that point you have a new challenge: disabusing the audience of the false impressions they have of "that meme'! lol)
