 The fact that an employer has to provide a 20 Y.O. kid full boat health insurance is ridiculous. In your 20s the biggest health expense is having babies, and once they get pas the first 2 years or so that drops pretty quickly. And when you're 20 why would you want to work 6 days a week? Or get colonoscopies?

The whole housing "crisis" isn't. You move out and get a place with roommates. After you meet a reasonably decent girl, that's when you look for your own place. But that's later on.
 @34b3698a show me the $$$$
 @4f50b305 No money when you're 20. Come back when you have something to offer!

OF girls being the exception...

Combination of factors

1) Two full generations of citizens infantalized by government as the provider writing checks based on
2) artificially cheap money supporting mass quantities of investment and
3) cheap shit from abroad promoting the wealth effect even though it's all flat pack garbage and none of it is real craft
 @d66a8056 To be fair, the overseas junk manufacturers learned it from us. I remember the shit US manufacturers made in the late 70s and 80s before slime like Chainsaw Al Dunlap sent all the machine tools over to China.

The only good manufacturing post-maliase era was out of Japan, but most of it was boring and no style. Europe had style (B&O, Lotus, Alpha-Romeo) but no engineering ability. Once Japan hit the 1990s everyone else had to catch up.

In your 20's your health care expenses are mostly babies, accidents and dental (wisdom teeth extraction being a big one).

Having a baby is very expensive, and then there's the pre- and post-birth care.

I agree on the roommate thing - it cuts the expense while increasing the adventure.
