Well yes it's true that relays can censor and tech companies can block apps on their stores. 

..but communities can set up their own relays, and mobile users can just use a self-hosted web client. This is an Exit-preserving, sovereignty-preserving protocol, and when you have that, you have both censorship (for those who control their own parts of the network) and exit (by way of making your own parts of the network).

These necessarily travel together

Basically: even if you get blocked by all known nodes, it is just necessary for one of your followers to discover where your recent texts are being published that you will pass this information to other clients and update the information where to read fresh stuff.

This is truly next-level social network.
