 Apps and clients for photogs?

I’m not using any outside of Leica FOTOS and Nikon SnapBridge as they both connect to my respective camera systems and allow me to transfer my photos from my cameras to my phone quickly, in addition to remote shutter.

But integration to Nostr?
Does such a thing exist?
@f1b911af
No apps for direct photo integration to Nostr… at least not that I know of. The question is quite vague though, maybe Margaret could specify?
From what I understood early on when I joined Nostr, there would be different clients that communicate with this protocol to mimic Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and we could structure our feeds and interactions similar to how we use those.

I think that’s what she’s asking?
Please disregard if I assumed wrong 😇
Right that makes sense. Not a perfect answer or app per se but the #photography feed in primal does a great job at aggregating photo centric posts.
I’ll try that later today. I’ve been slacking on Primal because that client fails to upload my memes fairly regularly, so I always just switch back to Damus.
 I’m a Damus maxi myself 💜
The only thing I think Primal does really well is presentation and Contant flow
Exactly Bauzen. An Instagram type Nostr client that prioritizes imagery is what I would like. Damus, Primal and Amethyst - clients I've tried - feel like Twitter. Too much talk! (But good for this convo, hehe). I want to scroll the feed and be flushed with images.
Have you checked out the #photography feed in primal? It does a super decent job at filtering the talk 🙂 @zach might also be working on an instagram like client over at nostr.photography
Yeah, that works as an IG style feed.

May have to have different NPubs to have a different feed from that in your main feed, if the users aren’t hashtagging, but it certainly scratches the itch.
A photography specific relay that rejects non image based content could also be nice.
Good for viewing, posting can happen from anywhere.

Beautiful. Is thisbBased on #photography? That might actually make me remember to use it whenever I post photos — I always forget 😂
Oh bo, it just pulls images it seems. I don’t know, it’s confusing on mobile actually.
Yah it basically filters content based on whether it’s an image or not. Pretty cool. I never used a hashtag for these. https://image.nostr.build/59452905228c0f44605f4760c23586eb35324dfb6e6b517cf505ae759f01e410.jpg
Mobile has some issues with refreshing as long as the feed loads. It leads to images not advancing properly.
It pulls all image urls from normal posts. The topics are a set of hashtags that I curate.

This is legit @florian has done a great job
Totally — really enjoying the experience. Particularly on desktop. It feels different from any other #nostr browser I have encountered so far
We have lists for people (photographers) that you could create and could also build collections of images (albums)
 Elaborate pls
Working on it, slowly but surely. Got ndk connected to site now need to figure out how to present it in a pleasing manner.

Tha primal feed though 🫶
Love it — happy to help provide feedback on anything 🫡
Thank you, I'd love that, will keep you in the loop
 👀

Who is the customer for your photography app @zach ?

What problem are you solving for them?
 Humanity +

In reality though, I'm not sure if I'm solving a problem at all, but I'm learning more about programming, and laying my foundation for even more Nostr projects of my own in the future.
Thanks for commenting, this question is making me think about it more. What could we do to differentiate.
I have so much to learn, just cuz I bought a domain doesn’t mean much 😂
It seems there’s a desire from photographers and audience alike for a beautiful way to display photography on nostr. I’m personally less of the mind of rebuilding instagram but rather something that takes advantage from nostr’s unique architecture and features.
I feel like the early days of Instagram were truly about “photography”

Then it became something else, and influencooors were born
They were for sure. We were part of it early on
Are there any FOSS photography apps yall use? Much better chance there of integrating nostr than the closed moat proprietary software
Sadly the whole photography stack I use is proprietary mostly because it’s standard workflow in my FIAT job but GIMP and Darktable are very decent FOSS alternatives for editing… I don’t necessarily how a #nostr integration could be beneficial though. I personally export the final image and post it on nostr myself.
Would publishing to nostr directly from GIMP or Darktable solve any problem for you?
Not really. I don’t think the current process has any friction to be honest. I’d rather publish directly from the nostr app I’m using.
I haven’t really thought about it before this conversation, but sharing manually and uploading directly to our favorite client is already smooth (on damus).

Maybe having a note scheduling app where we can upload pics and caption the note, then it posts automatically at a specific time, that begin to help build influencooors here by letting them take advantage of exiting client driven algorithms.
