This was always an attack vector. We discussed this in the early years of Bitcoin, when adversarial thinking was still a common thing.
Separate money and state is a nice narrative upheld by Monero. Bitcoin over the course of the last years is about to become a merger between money and state. And no one even needs a hidden tax of 2% or a CBDC when you already have full sight of the whole network and can tax from 0 to 100% at will.
2% is insignificant in comparison to the grand scheme of things. Still Bitcoiners ride on its tailcoat as if it is the only thing that mattered.
