It even introduced shit like the new underground letting you catch mons that aren't in D/P or Platinum which would be fine if you weren't trying to say this is "faithful".

The only good thing about it was changing how HMs worked and Cynthia being harder. There's no point in saying its a more faithful remake as an excuse.
