 It's depressing to have the people you love still think you're crazy after years of conviction.

It's heartening to feel proud of your morals and the decisions you've made.

 I feel ya. For some reason this year these feelings are hitting harder than before - As if all my discussions have only widen the gap of understanding between most family members.

I think people are doubling down on the direction they chose during COVID and without another shock to the system, the gap will keep widening

 Honestly, that's when I started to realise who my real friends are. People I thought I was close to, would rather believe an article written by someone they don't know or can't even remember the name of, than their friend who has read two dozen books on the subject.

 Yeah, that's a tough one. My family think I'm a bit crazy, but also know I'm the most successful out of all of them. I stacked for them, so they'll be looked after. I'm just glad my wife is on board. Having my wife not trust me would have been devastating.

 Hitting me this year as well.  My immediate family all get the bitcoin part.  Them and my other close relationships viscerally do not want to discuss what I would describe as reality.  It seems too painful (and too risky from their social standpoint) of a gap to bridge.  And too much work to both digest the information and reorient their life accordingly.  
If you do not exhibit the following personality traits, it may be impossible in the short term:
-curiosity 
-thirst for truth
-strong principles rooted in fairness and honesty
