I've always found it weird that people have this notion that nostr relays shouldn't decide who writes to it at all, as if they both co-own and manage the server and relay with the original relay operator. I saw a lot of npubs with this line of reasoning when nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m brought a bunch of new users late 22/start of 23 too. It probably takes some time for new users to figure out that compute isn't free and infinite.
