I think people feel powerless because majority of the send & receive go to a small group. Not saying everyone doesn't have an opportunity to earn sats they do but most people won't bother giving because it's someone they do not consider recgonizable when it comes to the intent.

For example I just moved to NYC lets say I want to go rent out a stage to hold a 1hour bitcoin education seminar for the people of NYC & it cost 4,693,732 sats. I probably wouldn't even get 1/10th of the amount I need but if for example nostr:nprofile1qqsr7acdvhf6we9fch94qwhpy0nza36e3tgrtkpku25ppuu80f69kfqpramhxue69uhkummnw3ez6un9d3shjtnyv4ex26mjdaehxtndv5hsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9ekk7mt0wd68ytnsd9hxktc79dllq, said he was coming to NYC to do it & he needed those sats to cover the cost he would probably get that in 20 minutes from everyone on here.

i think personally it's harder for people who are not code techies to get a start in something because a lot of us on here have technical backgrounds & technology is so broad that maybe your not a coder but your familiar with thousands of softwares & how they work. Well a lot of people can learn on their own & wouldn't consider giving to someone who hasn't built a software themselves or isn't doing something coding productive.
