The fireball should be a good yo-yo to learn how to land it on the string with. That’s called a trapeze btw :) it stopping quickly is because it suddenly has two strings in the gap imparting friction to the inner walls of the yo-yo but another thing they can cause it to slow down quickly is not keeping your hands parallel, if one hand is more forward and the other isn’t it will cause the string to be at an angle compared to the orientation of the gap of the yo-yo, which will cause the string to run against the hubs in two spots. Try hard to land the yo-yo on the string as close to your non throw hand index finger as possible (to make it easier to land) and try to keep your hands aligned to reduce friction. As soon as it lands pop the yo-yo up into the air by pulling your hands apart and it will begin to find itself up. Get your non throw hand out off the way and try to catch the yo-yo :) focus on landing it on the string and immediately exiting the trick and catching the yo-yo. Once you can do that consistently start practicing leaving it on the string for a second or two. As long as you can, and practice building up longer and longer trapezes in increments
Man, thanks so much for the detailed response.. gonna try it right now! 🔥
Gonna have to blow the dust off this old thing 🤣
Best of luck! As much as it sucks to hear all it takes is persistence and patience and you’ll get it :) take breaks when it gets frustrating
