On my flight home from the Bitcoin Energy & Mining Summit at @bitcoinpark. It was my favorite event of 2023 and this year did not disappoint. It is becoming very clear that many in the energy sector fully grok bitcoin now and are eager to incorporate mining into their systems.
Copy for those who don't know, me 😉 The informal verb grok was an invention of the science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein, whose 1961 novel Stranger in a Strange Land placed great importance on the concept of grokking. In the book, to grok is to empathize so deeply with others that you merge or blend with them.
Love the sound of that! One of my clients works for General Atomics which is working on a Gen 4 reactor. (Stanford is working on one also) but I'm trying to orange pill him to work with a company like gridless and setup bitcoin mining via nuclear reactor in San Diego.
I work for GA... We're like 10 years away from economically feasible fusion
Gotta start the orange pilling early 😊, that's awesome though are you in SD? excited watching NuScale working on their SMR, but that will take some time also, 2030 I think.
Was in a well planning meeting for a slightly remote oil development site. There will be produced gas as well and there was discussion on pipeline access. These guys are an older group of people and was refreshing to hear “we are probably going to get a bitcoin mining unit involved and are reaching out to service providers”. Word is getting out
