Smashwords isn’t Nostr; it’s an online distributor. There’s Creatr which is like the Nostr version of Patreon. I’m looking into that next year to publish my fantasy novel. There’s long form Nostr clients like Yakihonne and any Nostr account can set up an npub.pro website which can be a way to consolidate an ongoing written work. That’s what I know of. Interested to see what other answers you get .
A lot more tools available now than when I was doing it. He should look into npub.pro - it uses the ghost engine and is good for blogging. He can build an audience there by publishing chapters as blog entries

You can write posts in Habla.news or Yakihonne or Highlighter.com and set up npub.pro to have them automatically published on your own site/domain. With reactions, comments, zaps etc built in. Please let me know if you need any help with it.
