Check out https://new.iris.to for a ReplyGuy-free Nostr experience. When logged in, it hides replies from people who are not in your social graph. You can display the hidden messages by clicking on the button underneath. https://image.nostr.build/62e5c3558a5e73ccf98611f16cc3b726b9d431e213f33d3cc32e81e066bbd524.png https://image.nostr.build/20e354fe8bdf1a17d3b157d9e8267b8d4888e2af511fb5b93ee0e9e127748b5d.png https://image.nostr.build/49f1ee71224925bc0804ff525271e94b21e657c21f1cb7635bc18153447c50c3.png There's also "Adventure" feed for showing all notes from your social graph: https://image.nostr.build/0d754b8223e03ab64dde6e9368b69bc51e6d18835dc31d94f8f4d1cd19eda17a.png I have worked on it together with the Nestr "decentralized GitHub" team. Nestr frontend and Iris are built from the same codebase using build configuration options for different branding and features. You can easily extend the configuration to make your own branded version. Source code to be released soon™. The client is based on NDK. Full SocialGraph up to 2nd degree is downloaded on first login, and thereon only missing follow lists are queried. I'll be experimenting with options to go beyond 2nd degree. The graph is serialized and saved locally in a compressed format, which is much faster to load than it is to reconstruct the graph from Nostr events. My graph consisting of 260 follow lists and 23000 users is 3 MB on disk. It's still very much work-in-progress and mostly tested on desktop Brave, but it's already my favorite way to browse Nostr.
Bots replying to this post is poetic 😆 nostr:note1c7clhg8d5grhhrm8cc0a23sfvz5xd9n6enyegas9f99xdk5d8kkq66l9x2 nostr:note1g5ujpzu3r2dhzz4ak6xs504x5a8xkur7y62ezzwxmw24zfjak5sqpcqtml
Well done Martti
Looks great!
I wished, and it was exactly delivered, and incredibly quickly too! nostr and teams are awesome =3 nostr:note148aqevzmc2e0sp69wyfsmpj6l26yps8zs0spzvem48ctqplzvzrs6hqqg3
What if people you follow have followed reply guy?
Probably not too much of an issue as to be effective probably reply guy makes a new reply guy account (I expect anyway, haven't checked) for each reply which is what makes it difficult for relays to just block based on npub. Your followers if they do acidently follow the bot will only be likely following 1 or 2 instances which are probably only used once and so won't be seen again and could be manually muted anyway. Of course if you follow someone that starts following all the reply guys as they appear you might want to unfollow them!..
It's very improbable that someone in your web of trust would follow a spam account
On Amethyst, having hidden the word "ReplyGuy" I had lost this post of yours 😔
Hello, Thank You With Gratitude For The New Update. I'm using the new.iris.to and i see on my profile that embedded site photos are no longer displayed, how can i enable it for the future posts ?
Nice to see working being done in Brave. I'm old getting and tired of being dragged kicking & screaming back into the mobile world all the time 😂 https://media.giphy.com/media/iHCi2sYO2rP4Q/giphy.gif?cid=790b7611gg8s7r7a60lssldfga1x3vdpl68jb1fvn43hdguh&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
Via @pippellia An unhappy path is that there is a compromised (or not) key, which follows a bot. This in turn allows bot spam in your WOT. How do you rectify this this?
Counting mutes vs follows in your social graph

very cool, but one problem is: as social media posts virally spread by people re-posting them, you are supposed to get mostly replies from people that you don't know at all - that's where the wisdom of the crowd comes in that makes social media so powerful. if you only get replies from people that you follow - most of them likely don't even follow you back - you basically just have a group chat with your closest friends, a small echo chamber.
Nice 🚀🔥
i used to use iris is it back?
That is pretty cool. It's like a stripped down version of iris. It's super fast. I like it. nostr:note1aylt2ve80rknflggzj7y7apncpjxdfrysady3tcfgksam3ytex8qucl2dh
This works a lot better on iOS Safari. For some reason the current Iris/Snort sites don’t load (they appear to only show a blank screen)
